Religion

I'm going to start by saying I'm agnostic, and I don't dispute the belief of a God. Maybe he's there, maybe he isn't. Faith is a gift, and apparently it's a gift I'm not meant to have. I don't want to offend anyone here, I respect your beliefs and I'm not going to mock you for it.
Christianity confuses me. God is God, but Jesus and the Holy Spirit are also God? Well who the hell is Jesus now? God? Human? So, he's like a cyborg? And the Holy Spirit is a God/bird thing? Like Zapdos? What? Okay, God created everything in the world in 7 days? Alright. Well, I don't think that makes any sense to me any more. There's pretty concrete evidence that evolution is real. When I think about creation logically, I know that living things are made up of cells, and molecules make up those cells and the things that are nonliving. I know atoms make up every molecule. I know that subatomic particles make up atoms. But then what? Where did these atoms come from? I suppose in a way, I do believe in a God, just not the way most religions believe in God.
I don't understand why we need to be in a specific building to be with God. Organized religion is just a way to make people more powerful. It's just another government. Vatican City is simply a city in Italy devoted to Christianity and the Pope, right? It became it's own country. Religion is (in my humble opinion) is THE most powerful force in the world. For instance, I could head out to the middle east, and start digging around for a while in the sand. "Find" a book from God, and write it myself. People would follow what's in that book TO THE LETTER because it's from God. The Israelites of ancient times mutilated their genitalia because God told them to. Uhm, if God told me to cut off the tip of my penis, I'm pretty sure I'd be begging for something else like not eating pigs. But I digress, this paragraph is about organized religion. I think (if there is a God), then God is inside us and we don't need to be in a church with old, backward, rituals. Respecting nature, being out in what God created for us is better in my opinion than destroying his forests to make a church.

Homosexuality

I'm a straight man. What I'm attracted to might be different than what you're attracted to. But we don't choose our brains. We don't ask to be gay or straight. So, what's wrong with being gay? Personally, I think gay people are a lot more civilized than some straight people protesting them. Love is a beautiful thing, and just as love knows no color, it knows no gender. These people from Westboro Baptist Church are kind of awful in my opinion. They're only argument is that "God hates Gays". Okay, let's dispute that. God created all of us, right? And if I recall from my Catholic schooling, we are "all created in God's image". Therefore, I guess if God is making gays, he must be a little bit gay himself. I just don't understand. If people are actually reading this, then comment and let me know what you think.

Profiling and Racism

Why. Profiling is just stupid. Living in the United States, I'm used to racist jokes and profiling because I'm exposed to it daily on the internet, through social interactions, and through television. The stigmas about race are already so prominent, it doesn't take a lot to make an effective joke. And that's just wrong. Profiling and racism is a horrible thing, and all too prominent in America.
When the World Trade Center fell on September 11, 2001, I was in Kindergarten, so I didn't really understand what had happened. But as I grew up, the effects became obvious. Anybody from an Arab nation or Arab decent was instantly hated and cursed. They were watched more closely at airports. They went through extra security. All of this because a few radicals interpreted the Koran in a way that wasn't exactly peaceful. Because the majority of Americans are Christians, I feel like they really look down on the Islam community just because of that. Sure, genocide and jihad isn't something to be encouraged, but there comes a point when you have to move on and stop whining and bitching about it. This world has never been one that's dwelled on the past. We need to move forward. Progress. That's what it's all about. Islam is such a peaceful religion, full of humble, devout people. Why do we hate them for that one incident? It's not like Christians never did anything horrible like that. For instance, the Norwegian massacre recently. The lone shooter was a white Christian, and his goal was to purge Europe of Muslims because he wants to restore the white, Christian dictatorship. He thinks he's a knight. That's just one of thousands of incidents. The Dark Ages, the Purga in Italy, all of these events were Christian extremes, but we have forgiven and forgotten that. Personally, I think the Muslims have some right to be angry with Europeans. Didn't the Crusades literally destroy their towns and steal their treasures? I'm pretty sure that there's a commandment against that in the Bible.
Racism is just as bad. Black people, Asian people, white people, Hispanic people, who cares? We're all the same. It doesn't matter where you're from. It just matters that you're here now, and we need to make the best of it. I can understand relating with your particular race, but that doesn't mean you should shun the rest of them.  I never understood the Nazis. Sure, if you think about it, they brought Germany out of a horrible depression after World War 1. Now, I'm not pro-Nazi or anything, but they did a lot of good before they did a lot of bad. The Holocaust wasn't helpful by any means. But, I think it helped show us that people are the same and nobody deserves to be persecuted because of their past. The same thing goes for slavery. What the hell? White American settlers and Europeans get bored of working, so they head down to Africa and find some black people. They instantly assume they are savages, so they start roping them up. Then, they bring them back to their respective countries and force them to work. When they want some rights, and finally get them, the whites freak out. The whiteman brought them there in the first place...it doesn't make sense. This is why I hate racism and profiling.

Introduction

I'm not sure what made me think people would give a shit about what I think, but what the hell. Let's go for this. Teenagers in general are angsty and annoying. We are extremely opinionated and our opinions are often skewed by the media. Underage drinking and drugs run rampant thanks to the Music Television (Thanks for Jersey Shore, by the way.) Our society is so messed up, I don't know what to believe any more. So, I believe what my soul tells me to believe.
